The Neighborhood
With its rich cultural background, amazing array of restaurants and bars, and arty vibe, it’s no wonder San Francisco’s Mission District landed a No. 2 ranking on Forbes magazine’s America’s Best Hipster Neighborhoods list. The city’s oldest neighborhood boasts hundreds of mom-and-pop eateries, thrift shops and galleries. Due to its Latino heritage, it also has the highest concentration of street murals in the city.

What To Expect
Access to public transportation is plentiful. Downtown workers can commute via multiple bus lines, and for those heading to the East and South Bays, there are 2 BART stations at 16th Street and Mission Street and 24th Street and Mission Street. Bicycling is a popular way to get around the neighborhood.

Lifestyle
Perhaps the Inner Mission’s biggest draw is its robust nightlife and dining scene. The Inner Mission has some of the sunniest weather in San Francisco, and on weekends, crowds flock to Dolores Park for the views, picnicking in the grass, the playground, and tennis. For those seeking exercise, the Mission Recreation Center offers basketball, volleyball and indoor soccer.
