Pacific Heights
Without question, Pacific Heights is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in San Francisco. With beautiful mansions, manicured yards, and access to miles of green space and hiking trails in the Presidio, this neighborhood is one of San Francisco’s most elite and most expensive.

The Neighborhood
Pacific Heights is a tranquil, elegant neighborhood comprised of large single-family homes abutting a beautiful urban forest. Because Pacific Heights escaped the devastation of the 1906 earthquake, some of the oldest, grandest, and largest homes in the city can be found here, including: Victorians, Edwardians, Mission Revivals, and French chateaus. The neighborhood is generally quiet and residential, with the majority of its activity clustered around Fillmore Street.

What To Expect
With its blocks of mansions and cinemascope views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge and the city make Pacific Heights a favorite with both visitors and film makers. The view from Broadway and Divisadero, more than 350 feet above sea level, can elicit a gasp from even the most jaded San Franciscan.

Lifestyle
Two parks with spectacular views reflect the neighborhood’s tasteful elegance: Lafayette and Alta Plaza. Each one harks back to an age when parks were meant for strolling. On sunny days, residents are drawn to Lafayette Park, a great place to bask in the sun, read a good book or walk their dog. Alta Plaza Park, a few blocks to the west, has tennis courts, a playground and panoramic city views. Residents desiring a longer walk, run or jog, can head downhill to Marina Green and Crissy Field.

The Market
The neighborhood’s varied architectural styles include: Edwardian, Victorian, Mission Revival and Chateau. In more recent years, apartment houses and condo buildings have sprinkled in. Developers are still finding space for new housing amidst the area’s many historic mansions. Old gas stations, vacant lots, and a former dentistry school have been turned into a new generation of premium homes, with the last undergoing a major conversion to become a rare multi-unit building.
